Normalize podcast loudness: keep episodes at one level
Consistent loudness for podcast seasons on Windows – offline, for whole folders, with ready-made settings and protection against clipping.
Why podcasts often sound uneven
Different mics, rooms, and edits make episodes – and even sections within a show – sound louder or quieter than others.
Listeners keep reaching for the volume knob. LUFS normalization matches perceived loudness more reliably than looking only at the loudest peak.
Practical targets
- Podcast / General: often around -18 LUFS (ready to select in LUFS Converter Pro).
- Many platforms: guidance near -16 LUFS stereo; mono speech may be quieter.
- Peak limit: e.g. -0.5 or -1.0 dBTP so nothing clips.
Whole seasons, not single uploads
Online tools hit limits with archives. On Windows, LUFS Converter Pro processes full folders including subfolders – offline, with no upload.
- Load a folder of episodes (MP3/WAV/FLAC).
- Choose Podcast / General.
- Set the peak limit and start.
- Use the before/after report to double-check.
