Privacy Policy

1. Privacy at a glance

The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data with which you can be personally identified.

2. Data controller

The data controller for processing on this website is:

Andreas Horhäuser
Holthausstr. 7
58332 Schwelm, Germany
Email: andreas@horhaeuser.com

3. Data collection on this website
Hosting and server log files

The provider of this website automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits to us. These include:

• Browser type and version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL (previously visited page)
• Host name of the accessing computer
• Time of server request
• IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources. Collection is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of the website – for this purpose, server log files must be recorded.

Cookies and visitor statistics

To count unique visitors, we set a technical cookie. It contains no personal content and is used solely to avoid counting repeat visits from the same browser within 365 days. We do not use third-party analytics or marketing services.

When you visit for the first time (per browser), we also store internally the time of the visit, the country of origin (via a GeoIP database held locally on the server, without storing your IP address), optionally the city, and the traffic source (e.g. Google, Facebook, or direct). These entries are used for internal evaluation in the operator statistics and are automatically deleted after 90 days. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in privacy-friendly visitor analysis).

Legal basis for the cookie: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in simple, privacy-friendly visitor statistics). You may delete the cookie at any time in your browser settings; it may be set again on your next visit.

Whether you have closed the cookie notice on the website is remembered locally in your browser. This information is used only to display the notice and contains no personal data.

LUFS Converter Pro downloads

When you download LUFS Converter Pro, we internally store the time of the download, the file name of the installation file delivered, the country of origin (via a GeoIP database held locally on the server, without storing your IP address), optionally the city, and the traffic source (e.g. Google, blog, or direct). No IP addresses or user-agent strings are stored in this download log. Entries are used for internal statistics and are automatically deleted after 90 days. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in evaluating LUFS Converter Pro usage).

To prevent abuse, we limit the number of LUFS Converter Pro downloads per client (e.g. a maximum of 3 per 60 minute(s)). For this purpose we temporarily store a hashed value derived from your IP address—not the IP itself—in a separate file on the server. These entries are automatically deleted after 60 minute(s). If the limit is exceeded, the message “Download limit reached. Please try again in about 60 minute(s).” is shown. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in protecting against automated abuse).

Contact form and contact by email

When you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process the data you provide (name, email address, subject, and message) to handle your enquiry and for any follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent. Contact enquiries are stored internally (reference number, timestamp, privacy consent given).

Processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your enquiry relates to contract fulfilment or pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively handling enquiries (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent when using the contact form (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

Review form

When you submit a customer review via our review form, we process the data you provide (name, email address, star rating, and optionally role/usage and comment) to receive and handle your feedback. We do not publish your email address.

Reviews are stored internally (reference number, timestamp, privacy consent given, and optional publication consent). For traceability we also store technical access data (IP address, browser identifier) in the review record. Publication on the website only takes place if you have expressly agreed and we have approved the review after checking it. What may be published is your name, optionally the usage note you provided, your star rating, and your comment.

Legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in evaluating customer feedback and presenting authentic testimonials). If you agreed to publication, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR also applies. You may withdraw publication consent at any time with effect for the future; we will remove already published content after review upon request.

Order form

When you purchase a license via our order form, we process the data you enter (name, email address, country, device ID, and optional message) to process your order and provide the serial code. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Orders are also stored internally (order number, timestamp, status, consents to terms, withdrawal policy, and early performance).

If you use our electronic withdrawal function, we process the data you provide (name, email address, order number, and optional reason for withdrawal) to handle your withdrawal and send the statutory confirmation of receipt. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR (legal obligation under § 356a BGB).

Update newsletter

When you subscribe to our update newsletter, we store your email address, subscription time, and confirmation status. Subscription uses double opt-in: you are only added as a subscriber after confirming via the link in the email. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time, e.g. via the unsubscribe link in a newsletter email or by email to andreas@horhaeuser.com.

4. Your rights regarding your data

You have the right at any time to obtain free information about the origin, recipient, and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request correction or deletion. If you have given consent to data processing, you may withdraw it at any time for the future. You also have the right to request restriction of processing or to object under certain circumstances.

For this and further questions on privacy, you may contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
